“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven…”
On that day all over the world the Vincentian Family celebrated the Solemnity of St. Vincent de Paul – a founder of the Congregation of the Mission and an inspirer of so many congregations, a patron saint of all the charitable activity done in the Church. Scores of guests assembled at “God’s Gift” house in Kyiv to celebrate the feast all together.
The Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Petro Zharkovskyi. In his sermon, he drew special attention to the meaning of words “poor” and “blessed”, speaking about what it brought us and meant to us. The solemnity ended with the Litany of St. Vincent and relics veneration.
On that special day, the whole Vincentian Family has a chance to receive a full indulgence as well as those who have visited the solemn Holy Mass and have addressed St. Vincent in a prayer asking for his intersession.
After the Holy Mass, all guests were invited to attend the charity event called “The Vincentian Gingerbread”.
As usual, the Marian Sisters treated everyone with self-cooked goodies.
We say thanks to everyone! St. Vincent, pray for us!
