VMY Retreat – Transcarpathia

In the picturesque town of Perechyn in Transcarpathia, a retreat was held for members of the Vincentian Marian Youth (VMY) from 14 to 15 February, attended by young people from Perechyn, the village of Tur’ya Remety, Onokivtsi village, and Huta village.

The theme of the meeting was interesting and relevant: “To be happy is to be holy.” This topic always sparks interest and raises a series of engaging questions.

During conferences led by the Missionaries of St. Vincent de Paul, Fathers Jan Vakulchak CM and Vladyslav Kuchak CM, we reflected on the nature of happiness, how to attain it, what holiness entails, and the path to becoming holy, recognising that happiness and holiness are intertwined. We also engaged in discussions and shared insights during group work, and in the end, each group presented their reflections.

It’s also worth mentioning that we gathered every day for the Holy Mass, the central event of our retreat. During adoration, we meditated on and contemplated the Eucharistic Jesus, which was a very special time.

We are thankful to God and all the organisers for the opportunity to meditate on the Word of God together, discuss important life questions, and enjoy each other’s company while sharing joy.

Looking forward to our next meeting.
