The Superior General spent another day of his visit in Kyiv.
The Superior General visited the Kyiv community of the Vice-Province of Saints Cyril and Methodius. During the visit, he met with members of the community, visited their projects, and participated in a worship ministry. Father Tomaž appreciated the work of the Vincentians in Kyiv and encouraged them to continue their mission. The visit of the Superior General was an important event for the entire Vincentian family in Kyiv, which includes the St. Vincent de Paul Conference, the Association of the Miraculous Medal, the Depaul Ukraine Charitable Foundation, the Congregation of the Sisters of Mary of the Miraculous Medal, volunteers, and the missionaries themselves. During his visit, the Superior General also gave an interview on Radio Maria, which is listened to by 600,000 Ukrainians and listeners around the world.
The Superior General also visited the village of Zahaltsi, where the Vincentian family helped rebuild 45 houses destroyed by russian occupiers in 2022. He met with some local residents. During Holy Mass, he handed over a symbolic key to a joint project that the Vincentian family in Ukraine plans to implement by the end of 2025. Ukraine is one of thirteen countries in the world where the Alliance for the Homeless project is operating this year. This project aims to establish a home for 80 homeless people. After Holy Mass, they took a group photo and continued the evening with refreshments and informal conversation.
