Prayer for deceased poor people in Kyiv

On November 16, 2019, Fr. Anatoliy Tovkan, CM, along with volunteers of the School of Volunteers,Sisters of Mary of the Miraculous Medal and seminarians of St. Justin de Jacobis Seminary visited the Northern Cemetery located near the village of Rozhny, Brovary district, Kyiv region, in order to pray for the souls of deceased poor people.

As we know, one of the Corporal Works of Mercy is “bury the dead”. For this reason, we come to those who have left this world and who cannot help themselves anymore in any way. On that day, the Funeral Rite was performed including prayers and pleas addressed to Our Merciful Lord to receive all the deceased poor people, for which no one had ever prayed or was praying, to His Heavenly Kingdom.

At that cemetery, lonely unconnected Kyiv residents, unidentified people and persons of no fixed abode are buried.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon them.
