Our confrere Petro Mazur, Seminarian of the third year of studies from the Congregation of the Mission, received the ministry of Lector conferred by Visitor of the Vice-Province of SS. Cyril and Methodius Fr. Leonid Kuklyshyn, CM. The event took place on the fourth Sunday of Easter, which is called Good Shepherd Sunday, during which the Roman Catholic Church usually prays for vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
The Lector’s duty is to help a priest during the Liturgy with reading the Word of God as well as to learn to discern it more thoroughly in his personal life. Moreover, the ministry of Lector is one of the steps of formation on one’s way to the priesthood.
We wish that Petro practices his persistence, humbleness and patience. May the Lord bless him and give him strength to develop and reinforce this vocation!
