Meeting of Catholic seminarians of Ukraine

A meeting of seminarians of Ukraine took place on May 11-13, 2018 at the Lviv Seminary located in Briukhovychi. It was attended by seminarians from Horodok, Vorzel, Lviv, Redemptoris Mater Seminary from Kyiv and Vinnytsia as well as seminarians of the Congregation of the Mission. The event stated with seminaries presentation held during a joint dinner at the Seminary Summerhouse. On Saturday, seminarians visited Lviv holy sites. One of significant moments was a meeting with Metropolitan Archbishop Mechyslav Mokshytskyi at Lviv Archbishops’ Palace, which ended with a joint lunch. In addition, seminarians visited a seminary chapel of a former seminary at the Curia, where they all prayed together the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. In the afternoon, seminarians participated in the Holy Mass celebrated by Lviv Metropolitan Archbisop Mechyslav Mokshytskyi.

On Sunday, auxiliary bishop of Lviv Archdiocese Edvard Kava arrived to meet us and headed the Holy Mass. We are grateful to him for being there and for those words he said to us: “Be fresh with God, because you are the core of the diocese.” Concluding the meeting, there was a match for the “Metropolitan Cup”. Redemptoris Mater Seminary from Kyiv won the first prize, the second prize went to Redemptoris Mater Seminary from Vinnytsia, while a select team of Vorzel and the Missionaries took third place.

We are grateful to God for that fruitful and fun time, and the Kyiv Seminary invites everyone again next year to meet in Vorzel.
