Lectorate and Acolyte ministries for seminarians – 25/04/2021

Dear friends, brothers and sisters!

On April 25, the fourth Sunday of the Easter period, called Good Shepherd Sunday, when the Roman Catholic Church prays for a vocation to the priest and consecrated life, seminarians Andrii Patyka and Petro Mazur received the lectorate and acolyte services  given during the Holy Mass by the Visitor of the Vice-Province of St. Cyril and Methodius Fr. Leonid Kuklyshyn СМ.

The task of the lecturer is to help the priest during the Liturgy in reading the Word of God, and to work on a deeper its understanding in personal life. Acolyte’s task is to help the priest during the Holy Mass, in particular, he can to give the Holy Communion to the faithful and perform the purification of liturgical vessels, as well as help with adoration (setting of the Holy Gifts).

Lectorate and Acolyte are also one of the stages of formation to the priesthood.

We wish Petro and Andrii endurance, humility and patience! May the Lord bless and empower you to develop and strengthen your vocations!

May the good and Merciful Lord also endow all with the necessary bounties and graces.
