INTERNATIONAL MOVEMENT OF CATHOLIC STUDENTS UKRAINE

The National Executive of the IMCS held its annual meeting in Kiev on the 8^th of April 2017 in the Vincentian House ‘God’s Gift”. It was well attended by all the official from the Ukrainian cities where there are foreign Catholic students. The cities represented were Vinitsa, Kiev, Zaparozhie, Kharkov, Poltava, Sumy, Ternopol, Lvov, and Ivano-Frankovsk. Chernivtsi and Dnipropetrovsk were represented for the very first time.

The meeting started with a Holy Mass at 10.30 in the community chapel. The New Visitor of the Congregation of the Mission, Fr Jan Tzorp, CM was present at the Mass and the meeting. Our new confrere from Indian, Fr Sherin Dominic, CM was introduced to the executive members.  The national coordinator, Fr Jan Martincek, CM took his time to explain the various offices and positions within the leadership of the movement in order to clarify to the new members how the movement works. The 2017 Annual Pilgrimage was scheduled for April 28^th to 30^th, with the theme: St. Vincent De Paul. The reason is to mark the 400^th anniversary of the congregation of the mission in the world.

Reports from the individual cities were read by their leaders. The challenges from each city was discussed and the meeting come to a close at 14.00. The members departed to their various cities.
