Today, October 15th, was a special day for Veronika Vyhivska. She officially entered the novitiate of the Marian Sisters of the Miraculous Medal. As a sign of her acceptance into the Congregation, she received the Miraculous Medal, a white veil, and a gray habit to testify with words and deeds that she has chosen a life consecrated to God. Today, we heard in the Gospel that many were invited to the wedding banquet, but few were chosen among them. We wish for Veronika to become one of those chosen ones who will serve her Bridegroom until her last breath, sharing all her worries and trials with Him, rejoicing for every Christian who has come to know God.
For Veronika, it was the Marian Sisters who became the ones she wants to follow. They are inspired by the example of the Virgin Mary, who hastened to her relative Elizabeth. Leopoldina Brandis, the founder of the Congregation, wrote: “Just as the Virgin Mary hastened to Elizabeth, so should the Marian Sisters hasten to the homes of the sick and needy to bring them help and comfort.” Veronika already serves with the sisters to help those in need in Kyiv and the region.
To celebrate this event and share this moment with Veronika, her mother, godmother, brothers, sisters, friends, and acquaintances came. To share their joy and congratulate Veronika also Sister Jozhica Sterle together with Sister Katerina Vasilenko came – the Marian Sisters from Turia Remety in Zakarpattia. After Mass, everyone had the opportunity to congratulate Veronika and chat in a friendly atmosphere over an agape meal prepared by the Marian Sisters.
Let us pray for her and the whole Congregation so that God may bless her with the necessary graces and support her at every step, in every task, and in all trials.
