Children`s Day in the parish of St. Vincent de Paul (Kharkiv)

The long-awaited summer has come. The study has already finished, exams come to the end. The weather is great! At the end of the school year 2015-2016 in the parish of Kharkiv traditionally celebrated the Children`s Day. This year we decided to celebrate it in June 11, on Saturday, so that not only children could rejoice, but also their parents.

The group of the Vincentian Youth of Maria (VYM) led by Vasil Zinych UY has produced the festival this year. The preparation has started two weeks ago. The boys cut the grass, they did the layout on the field and put the sound equipment. The girls were engaged in preparing competitions and concerts. Long-lasting rehearsals and a lot of ideas! And, finally, the holiday is coming! On Saturday, at 10 o`clock, children and parents gathered in the church for common prayer, that was thanksgiving Service at the end of the school year and for the blessing of the summer holidays. After the prayer they started entertainment. Everyone, both adults and children were got ID and can take part in various competitions getting special “chips” that can be exchanged for cotton candy, children’s manicure, art-face or jump on the big trampoline to get the great joy of every child! It was very fun and exciting! There were also competitions, especially for mothers. And, of course, the queue for cotton candy!!! Then began a concert where children and young people showed their talents both vocal and dance.

At the end of the festival was special treating a hot and surprise, that was an ice cream which Dasha treated in honor of her birthday! The festival was remarkable and no one wanted to go home. Even the rain, which started at the end wasn`t able to disperse everyone, they talked for a long time, standing in the queue for cotton candy!
