About Odesa branch of Charity Foundation of Depaul Ukraine

About 500 people with disabilities among the internally displaced persons (IDPs) were accommodated in the resorts and sanatoriums in Odesa oblast since 2014 according to various sources. 120 people lived in sanatorium “Kuyalnik” until October 2016. People with disabilities who were left in the sanatorium faced a very difficult situation due to power outages, lack of heating, and lack of elevators. The most active of them began to seek emergency assistance from charitable foundations, non-governmental and religious organizations.

Odesa branch of Charity Foundation of Depaul Ukraine received a call on the 5th October. During a week we helped people in distress including 22 children, 12 children with disabilities, 40 adults with disabilities, 1 insulin-dependent person. During this time they received about 500 hot lunches.
