What did the mission mean to me? (Mukachevo)
Looking through the prism of my life, I realize that participating in missions is once or maximum twice in a lifetime opportunity.
I often pay attention to the missionary cross and the dates engraved since 1912, so the next one comes not soon. The last one was made in 1997. And this week we, the residents of Mukachevo, had opportunity to participate in a program of the Congregation of Mission of St. Vincent de Paul.
The Fathers Lazarists fulfilling the message “Go and teach” brought a good message to us, the faithful of the Catholic Church.
This was a week of participation in the masses which included special blessings for children and youth, the elderly, couples, and a confession of the whole life. The Cross Way impressed me most of all. «Can a family life be considered as the cross? Is the daily routine is a patience for each of us? Do we compare ourselves with Simeon who did not want to carry the cross?…» And I understand that I will not find the answer without Jesus.
We express our sincere gratitude to Fr. Marek, Fr. Stanislav, who served liturgies in two languages and gave great blessings. Special thanks to sisters – Anastasia, who direct all her efforts to children and young people, Danuta and Sofia, who do their best to patiently serve and deliver the truths of faith and hope to us in true purity.
