Trip to Lviv – Day 11

On Friday, March 21st, the Superior General of the Congregation of Mission, Fr. Tomaž Mavrič CM, visited Lviv. He arrived from Transcarpathia at noon, having traveled 300 km. In Lviv, Fr. Tomaž met with the Sisters of Mercy of St. Vincent, Byzantine Rite. He was able to visit two of the sisters’ houses.
During the conversation, he had the opportunity to learn about the current situation of the Congregation, and everything took place in a very friendly atmosphere.
Later, Fr. Tomaž visited the recently established parish of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Miraculous Medal, where the confreres of the Vice-Province serve.
As every Friday, before Mass, there was an hour of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Fr. Tomaž had a busy day: in the morning he traveled from Transcarpathia to Lviv, and at noon he met with the sisters. However, after visiting the parish chapel, he adored Christ in the Blessed Sacrament with great joy.
After that, Holy Mass took place. During the rite of giving the sign of peace, Fr. Tomaž personally shook hands with each parishioner as a sign of the peace he brought to our land. After completing the Liturgy, the Superior General also participated in the Way of the Cross.
After the spiritual part, there was a meeting with the parishioners during which Fr. Tomaž spoke about himself, the story of his life and vocation, and shared his experiences and observations regarding the directions of the Vincentian Family’s activities.
We are sincerely grateful to our Superior General for his support and fraternal visit.
