The Triduum

CHRIST IS RISEN!

We wish to share with you the way we experienced the Triduum and Resurrection of Our Lord.

That time was extremely fertile and full of quivering feeling. While still making our retreat during Lent, we tried to delve into that great mystery of Lord’s suffering and walk the way of our salvation together with Him.

On Maundy Thursday, the day when the Lord instituted the Sacraments of Eucharist and Holy Orders, we greeted our priests Fr. Henrykh and Fr. Rostyslav with abundant gratitude for their service and prayer. Thereafter, the Holy Mass began with the Washing of the Feet Rite. The adoration followed.

On the following day, the parish youth came up with staged Stations of the Cross, for which they had invited Fr. Andrii and parishioners of the Greek Catholic community. The Liturgy was followed by the adoration at the Lord’s Tomb which lasted till the following day.

On Holy Saturday night, everything began by the bonfire in front of the church. There was the Service of Light, Renewal of Baptismal Promises, Holy Eucharist – and Alleluia! Then we walked in a procession around the church and had the food we brought in baskets blessed.

On Easter Sunday, we had a solemn Easter breakfast, and thereafter we gathered together and went out to glorify Our Lord with pleasant singing, sincere prayers and our hearts overfilled with joy and happiness.

We thank Our Lord for the great time we have had and for all those graces we have received.

CHRIST IS RISEN!
