In Svaliava, in September 2016 we joined the nationwide campaign “Vincentian gingerbread” on the feast of St. Vincent de Paul.
We send you some photos and some information as due to the collected donations during the campaign we managed to help to Rusin family, as well as to a family with three children and to one young orphan boy, who lives with his grandmother.
Family history of Mrs. Nadia:
One of important issues in activities of the Society of St. Vincent is financial assistance to the needy. This time we put our eye at our sister in Christ, a member of the Society. The family of Mrs. Nadia consists of a son and a daughter with her children. Mrs. Nadia, who is involved in several communities and is responsible for cleaning the church and the parish, usually gladly agrees to participate in the pilgrimage. Her son Volodymyr, a person with disabilities, is also a member of our society; if possible he attends the meetings and shows an active interest in discussion and reading of Scripture during the meetings. Her daughter Nadia is a single parent who brings up two sons and takes care about elderly single women. This family is an example which proves the power of God’s love. Good God provides all with the opportunity to be good and to do good deeds – to give what you can give, either materially or morally, or just emotionally.
Thanks to everyone who supported us and to the whole Vincentian Family for the idea, for cooperation, mutual assistance and information dissemination.
Sr. Anastasia and members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Svaliava
