Parishioners of the Shrine of Blessed Marta Wiecka in Sniatyn were honored to welcome on October, 20, 2019 their new parish priest – Fr. Jan Trzop, CM, who had recently been the Visitor of the Vice-Province of Sts. Cyril and Methodius. Sincere welcoming words were said by parishioners, Sisters of Charity, ministrants and children of our parish.
In his sermon, Fr. Jan thanked God for His plan – meaning the start of service in our parish, in that special place he used to visit many times before during Vincentian Family pilgrimages to the tomb of Blessed Sr. Marta Wiecka.
The words of the Sunday reading turned out to be milestone. They were taken from the Book of Exodus, where the fight between Amalek and Israel was described. While Moses was praying and holding his hands lift up to the sky, Israel tended to win.
Thus, Fr. Jan paralleled himself with Moses and assured us he would pray for every one of us. Then he turned our attention to our prayer. What our payers is like? Do we just ask and wait for a rapid response from God? In fact, we should better pray in the bottom of our hearts and stay in prayer in God’s presence. We should do that without waiting for any outcome. The fact is Our Lord knows on His own what we really need in our journey to heaven.
So, we are sincerely grateful to God for His gift of new parish priest Fr. Jan Trzop, CM, and we promise to pray in his intentions.
Furthermore, we also would like to greet newly appointed Visitor of the Vice-Province of Sts. Cyril and Methodius – Fr. Leonid Kuklyshyn, CM, who has completed his service at the Shrine of Blessed Marta Wiecka in Sniatyn. We thank him so much for those years of work in our parish and for all that good he has done to every one of us! However, first and foremost we thank him for his prayer and spiritual support. We will mention you in our prayers and keep in our hearts.
