Bishop Antal Majnek celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation for seven parishioners from the village of Onokivtsi and for one parishioner from the village of Velykyi Bereznyi at the Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary on September 8, 2019.
Thereafter, some of those confirmees shared their impressions of that moment. “The Sacrament of Confirmation is a new stage. I have really felt that in the bottom of my heart. While standing there in front of the bishop at the moment of Confirmation, I felt both fear of this deliberate acceptation of my faith and warmth as a sign of my spirit receiving its wings. Never again can you experience such feelings. For me, it is another step towards God,” said Marianna.
“The Sacrament of Confirmation is a step making you a grown-up person, when you treat your faith with more responsibility. On the one hand, I felt fear, a fear of being aware of my tremendous love of God, while on the other hand I felt pure joy. I am happy of my being able to have this experience,” Daniela said.
Thus, we hope that all those having received this holy sacrament are the living witnesses of the Divine love and bring Christ’s light into the world.
