Relics of St. Vincent de Paul hosted in Lviv

Praised be Jesus Christ!

The relics of St. Vincent de Paul have been hosted in our convent Church of St. Joseph the Husband of Mary for over one week so far. During that time period, hundreds of Lviv citizens visited them. On weekends, our church is open from morning till night; so, many people can come here and pray in front of the relics. On Saturdays, we hold a psalms reading beside the relics of St. Vincent. People pray for peace in Ukraine, for vocations to priesthood and religious life and in other intentions. On Tuesdays, youth community The Children of St. Vincent prays an acathistus or The Chaplet of St. Vincent. Moreover, Sr. Teresa, who conducts a children’s choir, holds a Taize prayer.

On December 10, 2019, Volodymyr Hrutsa, Auxiliary Bishop of the Lviv Archdiocese of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church came to our church and prayed together with us for the glorification of our co-foundress Mother Elizabeth Poppe.

To add more, pilgrimages of children from Lviv schools to the relics of St. Vincent are organized. Our Sisters say prayers to St. Vincent every day; they speak of his life, hold presentations and show the movie.

So, we invite religious communities and parish priests to visit the relics together with their parishioners.

Sr. Valentyna Riabushko
