“DePaul Week” celebrations in Odesa

It is the start of “DePaul Week” celebrations on the occasion of the solemnity of St. Vincent de Paul that is to be held in a little while.
On the first day, there was a meeting with staff and volunteers of DePaul organization in Odesa. It featured a bit, quite a little bit of St. Vincent de Paul’s biography (because many of us were perfectly familiar with it already), some history of the development of Vincentian Family branches, and that only just a little, since we mentioned some branches while there were over 150 of them in the world. Then we also took a close look at St. Vincent’s life, and namely: where did he derive his strength to serve God in poor persons? The answer is from his hope he used to rest on the Lord as well as from his faith in Divine Providence. We believe the Father of the Poor beseeches of strength and grace for us as well so that we could actually bring God’s love to the homeless in Odesa.
