On 2016 March 19, Fathers of the Mission of St. Vincent de Paul, seminarians, Marian Sisters of the Miraculous Medal and volunteers visited the Youth Day in Zhytomyr. They held a presentation on the activity of Vincentian Family communities and charity groups. Moreover, they shared with the youth how everyone could help the needy with his or her talents in everyone’s place, how they could unite with friends and like-minded persons for good works. At master classes young people had a chance to gain knowledge on the first aid to the needy, on how one could start talking to them or making their acquaintance, on how to help them, how to organize charity fairs for fundraising and collecting donations for the needs of the poor as well as for engaging new volunteers, and many other things. And since it was a time of preparation for Easter, they painted wooden eggs.
We are grateful to Youth Day organizers and all those participants who were open for cooperation and new knowledge!
——– And here are our volunteer’s impressions:
Once again a road lies in front of me, and traditionally, it’s snowing:) This happens to me on my way to the Diocesan Youth Day in Zhytomyr not for the first time. But that time we were travelling there along with the Vincentian Family charged with the mission to talk about works of mercy for the poor and to hold master classes on various kinds of help. We were so glad that the youth was open-hearted and sincere, that they had a great variety of means to help the poor, that their hearts were open for help. They brainstormed us different ideas for new kinds of help which we would gladly use:) Volunteer Yulia
