Vincentian gingerbread

The Vincentian Gingerbread campaign has been already held in Ukraine for the third year in a row. Each year, the parishes, where the Vincentian Family operates, join in the project by baking and spreading Vincentian gingerbreads. Then the parishes take all the collected money and make one grand donation to support a specified project. In 2016, those funds were used in Perechyn to feed for the whole month lonely unconnected elderly people unable to take care of themselves. Thanks to your support, this activity makes further progress owing to other people.

The money collected in 2017 were handed over to the Community in Dialogue for the rehabilitation center for drug and alcohol addicts organized by the Vincentian Family in Odesa. Therein, addicts take a two-year rehabilitation course that is completely free of charge for them. Therefore, the money will be directed at the center needs.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

We want to join in the deeds of mercy through concrete actions: to take responsibility for those in need through serving them – to feed, to support, to help in their needs. To raise the responsibility of the whole society for those who cannot provide themselves with the most necessary. We want to implement it through our project – “The Vincentian Gingerbread”.

“Vincentian gingerbread” is an annual campaign held in September, a month of the Vincentian Family, because it is on September 27 that we celebrate St. Vincent de Paul’s Day.
