Upon an initiative of St. John Paul II… (Snyatyn)

February 11th is marked as the World Day of the Sick in the international calendar. It was initiated on May 13, 1992 by Pope John Paul II. For the first time it was celebrated on February 11, 1993.

In his message for the 26th World Day of the Sick, Pope Francis pointed out the maternal vocation of the Church concerning people in need and the sick. On that occasion, at the Charity Center of Blessed Sister Marta Wiecka a meeting was held for the sick of our parish and for those the Sisters help out in their illnesses. During the Holy Mass, the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick was celebrated. Thereafter, everyone had a chance to talk at the table and although the Lent had already begun, our souls were hungry for a song… about the Mother of God.

We thank everyone who joined us in our preparations for the meeting, especially to our AIC parish group.
