“He has anointed me to bring good news to the poor…” Lk 4:18

We celebrated the solemnity of St. Vincent de Paul on September 27, 2017. The event in our Beatitudes Chapel started with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Holy Rosary prayer and the prayer to St. Vincent de Paul. The current solemnity combined two other celebrations: Fr. Yan Vakulchak, CM, offering his first Holy Mass and candidates taking their “Bonum Propositum” (“good intentions”). Two confreres, Petro Mazur and Andrii Patyka, voiced their good intention in front of parishioners to serve in the Congregation of the Mission, keeping their chastity, poverty and obedience. They received their clerical garments – cassocks from the hands of Fr. Yan Chop, CM, Superior of the Vice-Province.

“A cassock is not a dress in a row of different clothes, but it is a PROFESSION OF FAITH in front of people, it is a brave WITNESSING given to Christ, it is belonging to the Church…” Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski

Andrii Patyka, Seminarian
