Alumni Meeting of The International Movement of Catholic Students 2018

The IMCS Alumni meeting was held in two venues, Nairobi and Enugu, on the 22nd of July, 2018.  The National Coordinator, Fr Jan Martincek, CM had earlier initiated the Alumni Meeting in Enugu for the graduated members from Nigeria. The meeting is running for the third time this year. The awareness has grown and the members look forward to meeting each other every July. This year, the meeting was coordinated by a Nigerian confrere, Fr Joachin Nworgu, CM, on behalf of the National Coordinator. The meeting was inaugurated with the Holy Mass at 10.30am. The meeting was held at the De Paul House Enugu, the Provincialate of the Province of Nigeria.  It was a huge success as the members gathered to discuss life after studies in Ukraine and how to nurture the spiritual formation received while in Ukraine.

Also, in Nairobi, Kenya, the members from Uganda and Kenya gathered on same day and time at the De Paul Centre Nairobi, the regional house of the Kenya region of the Vincentian Fathers. Fr Tom Essleman, CM, the Regional Superior was on present to welcome the members and Fr Anthony Ekpunobi, CM who was sent to host the meeting. The meeting was the first for the members from these countries. Thus, their joy knew no bounds as they met each other for the first time since graduation. It is important to note that most of the members from this region are already married and settled in their families. According to IMCS history, they were the foundation members of the movement. The success story of IMCS is not complete without members from Kenya and Uganda whose effort saw the humble beginning of what has become a huge apostolate in Ukraine.

Fr. Anthony Ekpunobi, CM.
